I've got a couple of neat jobs that I'm editing or gearing up to shoot - so I've been busy. But not too busy for more walks in the woods. Clearly it's a thing for me right now.

This month I drove north to a beautiful cottage on a lake to photograph Laura and Danny. I'll be photographing their wedding next summer and they decided that they'd like some engagement shots as well. It was absolutely freezing, but they were great sports and naturals in front of the lens! Thanks for a lovely day!
For the last few years, I've attended the Fat Goose Craft Fair, held at the end of each November. This year, at their new home at Grant Hall, the Fat Goose Collective once again showcased the best of local crafts, jewelry, art, and clothing. Generally I'm there as a customer, but this year, I was asked to take some pictures (of course I bought stuff, too!). The craft show might be over, but you can check out all the vendors here.
My recent post from the woods reminded me that I'd gone back country camping in September with my friend. I got up close and personal with a couple of mushrooms and some ferns. I've also included a shot of Rebecca and me. #Iwokeuplikethis
I played softball this summer and fall and it was a first for me. I'm not a "team sport" kind of person and my athletic abilities definitely leave something to be desired. BUT the people on my team were amazing and we had a great time. I'm really happy I've connected with them all. At one game, I took a few B&W frames on my Yashica D, which is a type of medium format film camera. Here's a small selection. I'd love to shoot more film, so hopefully this post will galvanize me into action! Lots of Steve for some reason - maybe he was just really photogenic that day! I'll try to get a picture of the whole team up soon.
I just recently started reading Bill Bryson's "A Walk in the Woods," which is about walking the entirety of the Appalachian Trail in the states. I didn't finish it because I... well, I don't have a good excuse. I kept falling asleep when reading it at night and I had to return it. But I really liked it! And I've enjoyed one of his other books, "A Short History of Nearly Everything." That's not really relevant. I just wanted you to look at these pictures of my recent walk in the woods with my sister and her family.
Good friends of mine, Jared, Tricia and Penelope suggested we head to Wolfe Island for their family portraits. It was a beautiful setting and we had a great time.
I had a great experience this August photographing Trystan and Vanessa's wedding in Ottawa. They were a photographer's dream couple: super friendly, easy-going and just all around nice people. I was a little overwhelmed by how lovely their friends and family were on the day of the wedding. It was a pleasure to shoot.
Here's a big selection. I don't normally add this many pictures to blog posts, but, I'm making up for lost time. I'll be adding more to my permanent gallery section soon. I recently shot my first headshots for a local actress. Alex Montagnese is currently performing in a children's play, Bird Brain, a travelling production out of the 1000 Islands Playhouse. Below you'll find two of the finalists and one I took in between shot locations. Shooting headshots was good fun! If you're an actor in need of headshots, call me up. Note: Please be as awesome to hang out with as Alex! You might remember that I did some photos for Purlin' J's Roving Yarn Truck last fall. Well, the truck is doing great! So great that it was featured in Vogue International Knitting last year - along with one of the photos from our shoot.
